A few weeks ago my husband, Charlie, was watching Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, cook Basic Beef Drip and immediately printed the recipe for us to make the following weekend. I was happy to find a new meal to try, but, honestly, Charlie prepared the dish and set it to cook for 6 hours in our dutch oven. While it is not cooked in a slow cooker, it is a slow cooking recipe. It smelled delicious and was even better tasting. True to what Ree said (as if we are on a first name basis!) it is tastier the next day. We have made our share of French Dip this past Winter, but my husband could not stop talking about how much he enjoyed the beef drip.. almost better than the French Dip. He loved it so much we made it two weekends in a row! It is not the most photogenic meal, but it is sooooo goooood dipped in the side of cooking liquid. This is one recipe we will making again on a regular basis.
