I can’t believe how tardy I am in posting about our May Book Club! I got caught up at the office and life on the home front that this post got temporarily delayed. I have to say the group grumbled about Linda’s book choice for May, mainly because it was 624 pages and a mass market adventure novel. For May we read Inferno by Dan Brown and it was just what we needed (or maybe I should say I needed.) to change up our reading material.
Having read Dan Brown’s The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, I was excited to reconnect with Robert Langdon in this fast paced, action packed scavenger hunt through Florence and Venice. It is part travelogue, art history lesson and mystery rolled into a 36 hour chase. I don’t want to to give it away, but it was a fun read and had a really interesting and thought provoking ending, not to mention that it made me want to plan a trip to Italy… While there may have been grumblings, the group pretty unanimously loved Inferno and everyone who started it, finished it in time for our meeting!
