February 2015 Book Club

There is one night a month that I look forward to and, unless it is something family or work related, I do not miss it. And no, it is not the Bachelor/Bachelorette, although I do really love watching it,  it is book club!  I love it and, more importantly, I love my girlfriends.  I could not make this months get together and I missed some serious girl time. Although I was absent from the main event, I didn’t miss reading the book or getting feedback from the group. For February we read Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty.

Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty

To give you a little history, we have read several of the authors books (What Alice Forgot and The Husband’s Secret) so we knew this would be well received by the group, especially after last months book we needed a different genre and this did not disappoint.  It was a bit annoying going back and forth between the characters but, once I got past that, I was invested in the story.  I could not leave it and had to keep going until I found out what was going to happen. The ending was a page turner and not at all what I thought. When does that happen?  There have been so many books where I wanted to throw the book, or Kindle in my case, across the room because I couldn’t believe the author left me.. seriously.. left me hanging.  Not this book.  It is a beach read, perfect for when you need to pick it up and put it down.
