The Full Slip

All this talk about dresses makes me think about what I wear under my dresses.  Shhhhhhh!  I wear a full slip under almost every one of my dresses and even more so in the Summer.  It might seem old fashioned, but it really isn’t.  I have lots of unlined vintage and silk dresses that look and feel better if I wear a slip beneath them.  It is not hotter, as you might think, to have a layer between you and your dress and, if the heat gets the better of you, you are not ‘glistening” all over your dress but on the slip.  Saves the dry cleaning…that is for sure!  I own several in both nude and black so I am never stuck with it in the wash and I always add one or two to my travel lingerie bag.  My current favorite are from Yummie by Heather Thompson, they are a-line, seamless and have a clean edge at the top that I don’t mind if it peaks out at the neckline.  This is a foundation must have…
