Book Review: The Cuckoo’s Calling

I can’t believe it took me this long to pick up The Cuckoo’s Calling that is written by J. K. Rowling, published under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. I can’t remember if I have shared my love for all things Harry Potter, if not, I am a huge fan and have read those books over and over again.  This new (relative term as this book was released in 2013!) series centers around the detective Coroman Strike and is very different from the Harry Potter books. It is really well written with amazing descriptions, not long and drawn out but concise, well chosen words to convey a scene or feeling.  So very much like J.K. Rowling.  It was so good, so good, I could not put it down and was totally enthralled.  I do really love a mystery and it was just what I was looking for.  I am actually so glad I did wait until now to read it because next up I am reading the second book in the series  The Silkworm (A Cormoran Strike Novel)… so excited!!
