Book Review: Delicious!

I finally got to several books on my reading wish list and just recently finished reading Delicious!. Ruth Reichl weaves a wonderful story, infused with delicious smells, tastes and interesting characters that had me thoroughly engaged (I read it cover to cover on a transatlantic flight!)  The story revolves around Billie Breslin, the Assistant to the Editor of Delicious! Magazine, who captures the attention of everyone with her amazing sense of smell but refusal to cook anything at a cooking magazine.  When the magazine suddenly folds she remains on as its sole employee to handle the magazines policy to “guarantee every recipe or your money back.” I don’t want to spoil it for you  but I can say it is a wonderful tale with good friends, lots of yummy food and a mystery to unravel.  It has everything I love! Give it a read, you won’t be disappointed .. maybe a little hungry..

  1. I just finished this book. It is wonderful!

  2. Melissa Olcott says:

Enjoyed it too. It read like an adult Nancy Drew with a culinary twist.
Also recommend Dinner with Edward, another NY tale.
