10 Flattering and Comfortable Dresses for Thanksgiving

I am much more comfortable in a dress than I am in pants and a top.  It may be because I have the hardest time mixing and matching separates.  There are so many options and I can get overwhelmed.  Give me a dress any day, it is a complete outfit and, if I can wear black tights and shoes with it, I am good to go.  I should back up that statement with a little disclaimer, I only buy clothes that go with black tights and shoes. I have made that my uniform and have pretty much stuck with it except for a few brown accessories I wear for more casual wear.  Sounds crazy but, it has made getting dressed at 6am in the morning, when I am trying to get out the door to go to work, so much easier.  I do have a problem buying fun colored evening shoes, but that is a whole other post and conversation!  For this post, I am concentrating on dresses that work for any Thanksgiving get together; casual, dressy, at home or going out to a restaurant for your festivities. We are hosting this year and I am thinking of wearing a midi dress that allows me to carry food to and from the dining room and then lets me cozy up on the couch for quality time with my family.  I am eyeing this dress, it checks off all the things I am looking for; comfortable, flattering, mid-length, it goes with black accessories and the price is right. What will you be wearing to your festivities?

  1. You cracked me up with your comments about black tights. This morning I thought the exact same thing! It was freezing cold but at least I could, without hesitation, bust out my black tights. That was the silver lining to a cold blustery morning!

  2. I ordered that dress for Christmas. Thanksgiving at our house is more informal, playing with the dogs, walking out to pet the horse, strolling thru the garden as the meal cooks, not to mention the before-meal cooking and after-meal clean-up! This year’s outfit for me was light grey jeans and a linen/cotton blue-grey blouse.
