Classic Shapes that Never Go Out of Style

It is time I took the plunge and just bought that Saddle Bag that has been on my list forever!  The problem is, I cant decide which color.  I really am a blue girl, but the grey and ivory are also calling my name. The price is right and it is a classic that will never go out of style, plus I can get it monogrammed!  I am torn because I really like the Dinky Shoulder Bag with the chain / leather strap and the flower appliques. Ahhhh… and to add more issues the Edie Shoulder Bag is a good everyday size.  What do you like best?

Ridgely Brode just can't decide which classic shape she wants to get on her blog Ridgely's Radar, they are all good and never go out of style.

  1. I have a black and a navy rectangular small shoulder bag, which I purchased in the mid90s. I use them for travel or to slip into a large tote. I leave my toto in the car and take in my small bag. It is great for a day of many errands. They look as nice as the day I purchased them, but the saddle bag would make a good update and I probably could use a brighter color. I love the Brittany Blue Bag. Thank you for the tip.

    • Hi Beth- I like that idea. I really need to separate my daily items from all the things I seem to cram into my tote and just carry that in a smaller bag when I am out and about. I agree – the brighter colors are really nice xxRidgely

  2. I have the dinky in the bordeaux red color and love it! I bought the black chain to switch up the look. With the chain it’s dressed up enough for drinks/dinner and with the leather strap it’s great for running around when you don’t have to carry a lot with you. The burgundy color is a great neutral, too, and goes with a lot of what I usually wear (black, grey, white, navy).

    • Hi Hope – I may have to get a dinkey! I am so glad to hear it is so useful and I like the idea of the different straps. Thank you for letting me know. xx Ridgely
