Florida Gets Me Excited for Resortwear

We just arrived in Florida and all I want to do is throw on my suit, a cover up and sit in the sun.  The weather is gorgeous and I am going to sink my teeth into several of these books on my Kindle.  I am bummed because I forgot my rash guard and its probably time to get a new one, so I am looking at this one, this full suit style (I am not sure I can pull of the backside), and this all white quarter zip. While I am shopping, I wouldn’t mind a new full piece and I  like this striped one, this classic white, this high neck black, and this slimming bandeau.  And to top it all off, I am interested in so many cover ups…this low back dress, this mutli-color one, this pair of white beach pants, this voile dress and this strapless mini dress.  As usual, I will have to narrow it down because there is no way I can have them all…

How Chic is My Weekend Tote?

While I was searching for, and then buying, Bean boots for our boys, I  finally (!) bought the camo tote that I have been wanting.  I ordered it on a Sunday and it arrived, monogramed, on Wednesday!  Talk about amazing service!  It is the right size to carry everything I need, stands on its own and has a zip top.  I love it so much, I am going back for an all black with black initials to use as my work tote. On second thought, I may rethink the black initials and go with one of the really fun colors they offer…I will let you know what I decide… What do you think?

This is the Best and Chicest Rolling Carry-On Case

I am obsessed, totally, 100% obsessed with my Corroon Pullman carry-on rolling case!  My husband gave it to me last year and I have been rolling it everywhere I go since then.  I have used it as my carry-on for short trips and for larger trips, in addition to checking a bag, I have filled it with my photography equipment and lap top to carry-on the plane with me.  Wherever I go, I have had people literally stop me and ask me where my bag was from.  I love that! We have been spending many weekends this Fall on the go and it is the perfect size to pack everything I need, but for longer trips I am putting the weekender on my Christmas wish list (hint!) so I can have a little more room.  Don’t miss their small accessories, they have great Dopp kits, small pouches and the totes (see here and here) are to die for.  Plus, almost everything can be monogrammed. I think I should see if I can send mine back to be monogrammed…..what do you think?

6 Gift Ideas for the Guys from Coach

Over the weekend I went into Coach to see what they had for men so that I can start planning my gift guides and thinking about what I might get the guys in my family.  Coach has really great looking leather wallets, belts, bags and as even expanded into ready-to-wear. My husband has used their Card Case for as long as we have been together, not the same one… I can’t tell you the number of times they have been ruined in the wash and we have had to replace it!  Over the years I go back time and again to pick up classic presents and now was happy to find that they have revamped some of their styles to be more fitting with the times. I think the Metropolitan Brief is a better looking, slimmed down version of their original briefcase.  I picked some of my favorites below and while I am sure you are shaking your head thinking I am crazy to be sending present ideas in October, you will thank me if you can check a few things off your list now.

PS Check out the Women’s section, I found a ton of very fashionable items that I have my eye on..

LED Dog Collars and Leashes

We have two medium sized Havanese dogs, Bailey and Jax, who we like to take for walks after dinner up and down the neighborhood streets. Our street, and many around us, do not have overhead street lamps and the only lights come from the houses, many of whom may not be on. As the days get shorter, and it is dark when we go out now, we can not see Bailey, who has black fur, at the end of the leash.  Jax is blonde and he is much easier to see but, he can disappear under a bush if we don’t keep a watch of our leads.  I found a few years ago some great options for lighted collars and leashes, plus some other safety ideas that I posted about here for walking dogs at night.  The ones I bought way back when have finally given out and it is time to replace them and when I went looking, I came across these LED collars and leashes that look like just what we need to keep an eye on or dogs. I am excited to give them a go!

Look-alikes: Square Sunglasses

I have worn my Oakley’s sunglasses so much that they are now totally scratched and the cushions on the temples have worn out. I want to buy another pair and probably will, but I figure it doesn’t hurt to take a look around to see what my options are.  I found 6 other very similar looking pairs all at different price points.  I like the Oakley’s because they don’t slip down my nose or off my face if I am running or doing yard work, they don’t snag my hair if I toss them up on top of my head and they have really dark lenses.  All of which makes me realize that I will have to give the other options a try to see if they offer the same features and look well on my face..
