5 Things in My Beauty Bag | 07

With a deep, deep freeze in New England it means my skin goes into a parched, miserable state. By the end of the day, my face feels tight, itchy and in need of some hydration. I sometimes take some oil or moisturizer and pat it all over my face so I get some relief before I get home and can get off my makeup. I am looking for a thirst quenching, skin softening moisturizer to nourish my sensitive dry face that will keep my skin hydrated all day. There are so many option out there and I am at a loss. I am thinking about this Ultra Moisturizing Balm, but it might be too think to wear under my makeup.  Have any ideas?  I would love some help!

In the mean time, I love this hand lotion (posted here), I keep one in my bag, next to my bed and on my desk. It is thick, but sinks in and feels great.  I am a big fan of these silk pillows (I have a pink one for traveling so I don’t lose my white one in a sea of white Hotel pillows!) and they are the best for both your face and hair. They are one of my must have beauty products!  I just got this hair mask and will let you know how I like it after I give it a go.  Please share your favorite Winter Skin Savers in the Comments!

Snow Day

What a difference a week makes!  One week ago, we were in sunny, warm Florida and fast forward to now when it is snowing and freezing!  UGH!  It was so nice to have a snow day on Saturday and I took full advantage.  I did not get out of my pajamas until about 5pm and only then it was just to put on jeans to wear under my Parka (love this longer version).  I had a little cabin fever from packing up Christmas and cleaning up the house from the Holidays, so I put on a parka to run around in the snow with the dogs.  It was fun to play in the snow, get some fresh air and then go back inside to warm up!  This is me…no makeup, housebound and happy!  Looking for items to keep you warm in these frigid temps?  Then check out this post for some favorites and so many options on sale here.

There's nothing better than spending a Snow day! Ridgely Brode spent the entire day in her pajamas and came out late in the day to play in the Snow.

I Just Want To Be Warm

I am not very excited for the freezing temperatures coming tomorrow to the Northeast. I just want to be warm when I am standing on the train platform and walking around the city.  So when I got home tonight, I started pulling out all my layers and searching for my hat and really good gloves. If it is going to be a long Winter, there are definitely a few things I would like to buy to get me through a deep freeze.  Luckily, I just purchased a pair of Polartec Power tights from Athleta.com – they have a cozy, insulated lining that are perfect for keeping you warm.  I have my eyes on the Quincy Boots for walking everywhere in the city and how can I resist this scarf? I am also adding this mini hand cream, some tissues and this really good lip balm to my tote, no chapped hands or lips for me!

The Best Winter Boots are Shearling-Lined for Warmth

I remember last year our son wanted a pair of L.L.Bean Boots and his size was sold out! This year, we are going to order them NOW and make sure he gets what he wants. I just looked and I saw some sizes are no longer available (eeeek!) so I am loading up my cart and purchasing them today!  I spied several shearling-lined versions and am so excited, I have been wanting a warm, cozy pair for myself.  Looks like there will be a lot of L.L.Bean Boots under the tree this year!  Grab them while they last because they do not restock…
