Did you make any New Year’s resolutions? I have the same ones every year: lose weight, eat better, exercise consistently, and stop biting my nails. (There must be a problem if I am making the same goals every year!) When I saw What2WearWhere.com’s post New Year’s ReSolutions Part 1, it made me realize I was looking at resolutions all wrong. Instead of making promises to myself that I can’t keep, I should be coming up with solutions to make these possible.
In New Year’s Solutions Part 1, the first three solutions are for fitness, reading and cuddling. I think the ‘Pop Up Station’ listed under #1 Fitness Solution is a great idea. I have a workout area in our house, but I think I need to put hand weights and leg resistance bands in my bedroom so I can do reps while I watch TV (I wonder if I could do the same in the office? Arm curls while I talk on the phone?!?!) For more information and to purchase the below items go to #1 Fitness:
As you know, I love to read and I am in a Book Club. I have an overflowing pile of magazines and books in a basket by my bed that needs to be contained. With that in mind, I am a total believer in #2 Reading Solution: get your E-Reader out and load it with books and magazines. I recently saw a friends Facebook status that said, thanks to her e-reader, she had read 33 books in 2011! I cannot think of a better way to de-stress, learn new things and engage your mind than picking up a book…not to mention getting rid of the mess by my bed! Here are some selections from #2 Reading:
Lastly, was #3 Cuddling Solution. While I appreciate the idea of getting into my silk chemise and robe to cuddle with my man, I need to first accomplish Fitness #1 solution! Not to mention I have two boys, a new puppy who needs to be taken outside every half an hour and a drafty house. After the last two nights of temperatures in the teens, you will find me cuddled up next to everyone in my house (!) wearing flannel pajamas, fleece robe and furry slippers. I wish I could pull off spaghetti straps and a thigh grazing chemise but, honestly, I would freeze to death. I am going to leave that to the fit city folks who have hot apartments or those who live in balmier temperatures. If that is you, go to #3 Cuddle for buying information.
I am looking forward to ReSolutions Part 2 and hope there is something in it for my nail-biting, maybe I should just wear gloves…
