Some desserts are better with chocolate and I definitely think that angel food cake is one of those desserts. Ina Garten has a delicious and easy recipe in her Barefoot Contessa at Home cook book called Black and white angel food cake. I love how chocolate bits are floating in the cake and then chocolate glaze is poured over the top in a drippy mess. Add a few strawberries or raspberries for garnish and your guests will think you hung the moon! Light, airy and sinfully good with all that yummy chocolate.
You may be wondering about the plate I served the cake on, it is a doily print melamine plate. I love to use them as my “fancy” serving pieces when we are outside or I am traveling to a picnic. Nothing but the best for my crowd! They also make a great hostess present, top them with a homemade dessert or appetizer and everyone gets to enjoy what you made and the hostess gets to keep plate.
