Last week my husband found a recipe for the slow cooker that he wanted to try out, the main ingredient was oxtail. It is not on the top of the list of meats I want to eat or cook, but I was game and, hey, depending on how it turned out, I could share it with you. Lets just say, we had high hopes and planned our Saturday night dinner around the recipe. It is not the most photogenic dish we have ever made and I am going to spare you the raw meat pictures I took and show you what we were thinking we were going to eat.
We cooked the oxtail according to the recipe, but when it was time to to remove the meat from the slow cooker, and shred it off the bone, it was not nearly done. We had timed it pretty tight for dinner and, with this snafu, we ended up going our for a burger instead. We left the meat to cook longer and then overnight. I do not know if our slow cooker decided to die on us or if we just got the whole recipe wrong, because it ended up going down the disposal.
I just thought that you would appreciate that, while I have shared many notable dishes and recipes with you, we have had many a mishap and not every meal has been a success. I am sorry if you had hoped to score another delicious slow cooker recipe, but this one is going to be re-tried until we get it right.
To be continued…
Please leave a comment if you have a great slow cooker recipe you would be willing to share, I would love to hear from you! Thank you.
