Last night we had a little Cinco de Mayo dinner and I am, hopefully, still in bed when this posts. So my Coffee Time with you will be about my DIY Decorations.
I found this great striped blanket from West Elm which has coral stripes and fringe on each end. It just fit our kitchen table, matched our color scheme and reminded me of a Mexican Serape, perfect for a fiesta! The grey stripes of the blanket were calling out for a pop of color and I thought tissue paper flowers would do the trick and complement the theme. To finish it off, I added bright yellow napkins and margarita glasses.
I found some coral colored tissue paper at Rite Aid and using these directions I made a bunch of flowers. What the instructions did not tell me that a 1/4 sheet of tissue paper makes a HUGE flower. I had to go down to a 8″ x 8″ square to get the bigger flower pictured and the other two are 6″x 6″ squares. I then took a roll of washi tape
and dressed up my plain white vases and glass votives.
So darling! What a fun setup!
