I have a problem. It isn’t an earth shattering, emergency kind of problem, it’s just me having a little bit of a freak out. I have a full-time job that I go to 5 days a week (actually I don’t just go there, I commute 1.5 hours each way door to door) and I write for this little blog that you are reading right now. I obsess over writing this blog and I want it to be perfect for you. I want to share really cool things and inspire you to read that book I couldn’t put down, or make something so delicious you won’t believe how good it is and I want you to find things to buy that fit your price range and make you feel like the chicest, coolest gal around. So what’s my problem? Why am I having just a little bit of a freak out? I came home and realized I had nothing to write about. There I said it. I have no idea what to share with you for tomorrow. Nothing. nada. zilch.
So I have decided that I am going to push it back to you.
I would love to ask you…Yes You…
What are you looking for?
When you come here to visit with me what makes you happy? What are you hoping I will give you? Do you need a cookie recipe or is your slow cooker needing some love? Do you only come for the books? Or do you love to shop and you can’t find that perfect ___________ (fill in the blank)?
Knowing what you are looking for and having some ideas of things you need will give me things to look for, source and bring back to you.
Can you help me?
Please leave a comment and let me know what you are thinking about. Thank you so much!
PS Maybe someone else is looking for the same thing and by leaving a comment you are also helping them…
I so enjoy all your posts…and your variety of topics. My favorites are your “lust vs. must” and new beauty product finds. Thank you for all you do to brighten the day!
Thank you Katie! I too love finding the ‘lust vs. must’ it’s so fun! I’m a beauty junkie so I will be sure to ramp that up! I appreciate you leaving a note, it’s really helpful to hear what people like. Xx Ridgely
I love the clothing posts the most because they relate to my day to day thoughts, and I like seeing what someone on the opposite side of the Atlantic, with a different life to mine is thinking about wearing.
But…..I’m also interested in the recipe/ cooking posts, and things you have discovered, whether they are books, shops or interior design ideas.
Don’t be hard on yourself. We are all just trying to do our best, and quite frankly, you do a better job of it than most of us!
So nice to hear from you Becca. Where do you live? It’s so true, we are all working to our own best and I need to realize that I can’t always hit the mark every single day. Most days if I am not feeling what I want to say I don’t post as I want to be as authentic and honest as I can. And this post just spoke to me and I had to write it. Thank you for leaving your kind worlds and reading along. I love hearing what interests my readers and to know it’s what I’m already doing is even better! Xx Ridgely
Ridgely, I live in lovely, dirty, noisy, complicated London.
Although there’s a lot of inspiration here, it’s a breath of fresh air to see what you are up to.
I can’t imagine London being any of those things, but I agree it is always nice to see how others live 🙂
I love your posts. Don’t be so hard on yourself. It sounds like you are juggling so many things and do it so well. I love the mix of style, books, recipes and other inspirations on your blog. As a fellow dog owner, I would love posts about “walking your dog in style” something I often find harder than you would think. With award season approaching, if you see any movies, I would love a post on movies. Other than that, please don’t change a thing!
Wow – Thank you Denise-Mylene! I can be too hard on myself – I think it can’t be helped when you produce something that is out there for others to see. I just want to put something out there every single day and some days it is just not possible with what else I have going on. Love the dog ideas – I hadn’t thought of that! Who doesn’t love a great movie?!? It’s true – haven’t done much if anything about movies. Thank you for those ideas, for stopping by, taking the time to leave a note and, especially, following along! Xx Ridgely
You know I love the beauty…The recipes are also pretty amazing, but to be honest I just like reading what you feel like posting. xx
WOW! Thank you Cayli – that is a huge honor coming from you! I am so happy to know you are following along. xxRidgely
I love all aspects of your blog! The variety is what makes it unique! Also, my book group

I totally copied-love those white jeans!! Didn’t you just finish Fashion Week? You deserve a break!!
Hi Lucy – Thank you! So fabulous you copied the white jeans! Amazing! Yes, we just finished up Fashion Week and it is always a bit crazy here. I am excited for a lie in this weekend and hearing all these nice comments have me energized! Thank you again. xxRidgely
Hi friend! Of course I love the book recommendations. Often refer to it while in Barnes and noble:). Just joined BOTM. What a great suggestion. I also love that you just admitted what all of us women feel at times…overwhelmed and having an off week. You are so relatable which is why we all follow you. I have read some interesting books lately. Black Matter and Everything We Believe (maybe only on Amazon). Keep up the great work:)

I commute 1.5 hrs one way each day as well! I am looking for a ivory or winter white a line knee length skirt. I will take pencil if I have to. Preferably in a lightweight, three season wool. Can you help?
Keep up the good work. Love your blog. Your hard work is not unappreciated.
Hi Liza – Really? Where do you live and work? I really don’t mind the commute, but I do have to really use my time wisely when I am home. I love the idea of a white/ivory skirt.. and I will get on the search! Thank you for giving me a challenge – love it! xxRidgely

Hi There, First of all I simply love your blog. Your style and mine a very similar. I look forward to your “Lust vs. Musts” and your wardrobe builders. As you know I have been so happy when I purchased your the products and items you share with your readers. I also love your sharing the books and films you are enjoying. I am in two book clubs and am an avid film buff. I also have important work as a community volunteer and I have a seasonable part-time job. So I need to make my “look” work for me and you consistently help me do just that.
Thanks, I am sure juggling all of this is a challenge. Keep up your high quality.
Thank you Beth – I always love our “chats” and hearing from you. It is great to know you are enjoying your purchases and finding value in my posts! Thanks again! xxRidgely
Your book recommendations is what brought me to your blog! Love them. I really enjoy your style posts- especially the ones on new, updated trends; and how we can wear them appropriately. I would love to see some Athleisure type outfits, to wear around the house and running errands, while still looking fab! Based on your background, I would love to hear your take on the “capsule wardrobe” and how you have built your wardrobe. I love your beauty finds and have bought quite a few of your recommendations! I always look forward to reading your posts!
Thank you from Pennsylvania!
Hi Karen – Funny you should bring up the “capsule wardrobe” I have been thinking about this for some time and just yesterday was having a full on conversation with a colleague about editing down to a capsule for Fall. I wonder if I can really do it? I will think about expanding on this and post about it – great idea …Thank you! I am wearing more Athleisure wear and I should get that up on the blog. Another good idea. You have really inspired me – YAY! Thank you for leaveing a comment and come back with more great ideas if they come to you. Waving to you in Pennsylvania!! xx Ridgely

Hi Ridgely! I’ve been a reader of Ridgely’s Radar from the beginning. I think my mother in law and I have read every blog post over the past few years! Here’s what I love: book club posts and any book suggestions, slow cooker recipes that are paleo friendly, table settings for Thanksgiving, and anything fashion related. Here’s what I’d love to see more of: easy weeknight meals, holiday decoration suggestions and holiday gift suggestions.
Thank you from Wilmington, DE
Hi Ridgely, I always enjoy your blog and particularly your posts on clothing and beauty which regularly have me clicking the links, particularly your recommendations for everyday basics like your post on slips (I kept all three I ordered.) Living where I do with few options for shopping I appreciate your advice and style expertise. And I am always looking for a good book so keep up the reviews. I am less of a cook, my husband is the chef in the family, but I would be interested in more of your holiday decorating and table settings, and your antique market finds. I hope you have a wonderful day! Phyllis
Hey Ridgely,
Please tell me which bag to buy for fall. I love a cool tote that rolls from work with my MIIX Tablet to Palmers and everywhere in between. Any ideas?
Hi Nancy- I have been on the hunt for you. Take a look at the Hello October email I sent out this morning. If you are not signed up for the Exclusive Newsletters, I can forward it on to you. There is a suggestion in there for you. I will keep looking to see hat else I find – I am always looking for myself for the perfect bag! xx Ridgely
