If you really want to know what I would like for Valentine’s Day, I will give you one BIG hint and it is from See’s Candies. I don’t need a dozen roses, white or pink for me if you are curious, a gift card to a Spa (see below for discount!) is always a great idea, a dinner out would be very welcome, but a nice big box of dark, nuts and chews would be my favorite present of all. See’s Candies are the best and a very rare treat…

I love See’s Chocolates. My mother knew Mary See when she was a dietitian and professor at Mills College during WWII. Mother had the fudge recipe. She made Mrs. See’s Black Walnut fudge with using the walnuts from the tree in our backyard. Every year for the holidays a large box would arrive from San Francisco assembled by her Mills friends for our holiday treats. So I hope your Valentines Day dreams come true. I am on a sugar free/flour free eating plan this month to get through the Holiday weight gain. I call it my “Blame it on the boogie” lifestyle correction.
Beth – that is such a wonderful story! Wow! What a fabulous memory? Have you ever made it? I have not had any chocolate either except for the ones included on my program, which are darn delicious, but a See’s dark caramel is my favorite. My grandmother had great friends who would send my sister and me a box every Christmas and I would eat my entire box by myself practically before the day was over! Memories!! Good luck with your lifestyle correction! Love that. XxRidge
My grandmother had a beautiful large chinoiserie lacquer box on her living room coffee table that was always kept filled with See’s candy. My cousins and I used to sit on the floor with that box and rotate picking a candy. I have that lacquer box now, but would be afraid if I filled it with candy!!! But Sees does bring back such wonderful memories.
It really does! The best memories and I too am worried I would not be able to stop at just one! :-))
