I remember when I was planning our blue bedroom some 15 years ago, I found this beautiful quilt in Newport at this tiny little linen shop of the beaten track. I loved the colors and pattern but it was really expensive. I hemmed and hawed over buying it but couldn’t leave it behind. It has been at the bottom of our bed ever since and I still love it as much as when we bought it. It is a ivory background with a blue pattern, bigger on one side, and smaller on the other. It is not threadbare but it is getting tired and I am going to start looking for its replacement. I am not rushing, but going to find something that will go with our room and that makes me happy to look at day in day out. What do you have at the end of your bed?
