Peplums are Versatile and Flattering

I am eating my words right about now because about one year ago I was going through my best friends closet – in exchange for her helping me with mine (see post here) and she had many peplum style blouses. She tried one after another and some were keepers and others were not. I remember commenting on it and how it was not a style for me. I didn’t think the flared bit at the bottom would work well with my curvy figure. Fast forward to when we went shopping together last week and look what I picked out! Not only did I pick it out, I tried it on and I bought it! Ahh.. look at me now. I am a convert. And my friend did remind me of the conversation 🙂

Turns out a peplum top is a very versatile and flattering piece of clothing! Depending on the style of the peplum, in this case a more fitted and structured style, it can work over jeans, trousers and a skirt. I tried this top on with black slim pants, a pencil skirt and high waisted white jeans. It looked great and you can check out how they looked on my Instragram Stories Highlights under Try Ons.
