There really is nothing more enjoyable to me than getting into a good book. I prefer reading under a big umbrella at the beach, but I am just as happy curled up on the couch with my dogs and a blanket. Luckily, it is almost time for Spring Break and I am going to get to enjoy my favorite pastime at the beach! With that in mind, I have been on the look out for some good books to load onto my Kindle

I loved The Nightingale. Really fabulous!! Another terrific and quick book is nearly anything by Jojo Moyes – but I just read The Ship of Brides which I totally enjoyed. Reading Dead Wake right now (about Lusitania) which is off to a great start. Now I will look into your suggestions for my beach escape!
The only one of these I have read is The Boys in the Boat and I cannot recommend it highly enough – a fantastic story, so well written. I am looking for my next read and will check out your picks. Have a great trip!

Thanks for the list. I clicked on The Secrets of a Charmed Life and was immediately drawn into the story. I am currently reading the new Eric Larson book Dead Wake, the Last Crossing of the Lusitania, which is also very good. After that, I am working down your list.
not sure if it’ll be out in time for Spring Break, but I recommend “The Pocket Wife” by Susan Crawford !
I just finished State of Wonder by Ann Patchett which was fantastic and The Glassblower by Petra Durst-Benning, which is the first in a trilogy about sisters who started a glass business in Germany in the 1890s. Can’t wait to read the other two books. I want to read The Nightingale and The Narrow road to the Deep North. Enjoy your Spring Break.
