Pre-heat non-stick electric griddle or griddle pan on high heat. In a pyrex pie dish combine the egg, milk and a sprinkle of cinnamon with a small whisk. Place one slice of bread into the mixture until coated and flip to coat the other side (do not leave the bread in the mixture too long, you do not want it to get soggy.) Put a small pat of butter or margarine on griddle, place bread coated in egg mixture on sizzling butter, flip the bread when the bottom side is browned. When the second side of bread is browned, remove from griddle, put on serving plate. Repeat with rest of bread. Serve two slices of bread per plate, sprinkle with confectioners sugar and a side of warmed syrup.
