WHOA… It’s cold here! I was in Florida for a long time (since November 22nd to be exact!!) and just flew back home to Connecticut. My bones are not happy and my skin is already parched. It feels tight and itchy. Everything.. my face, body, hands, feet, and hair!
To add to the discomfort to my immediately dry hands, I spent two days cleaning my office in the city which included going through files and files of papers. I got several really bad paper cuts and I felt like I need to wash them constantly.
Nothing is worse than itchy, dry, cracking hands!
A few years ago, I discovered Hemp Hand Cream (40% off all hand creams through Monday) which I posted about here. I slather it on at night before bed on both my hands and feet. I apply after washing my hands…every single time. I love it! It really does relieve that tight, dry feeling and makes my hands and feet super soft. I keep one in my bag so I can keep applying on the go!
My face has always been dry and sensitive, especially in the winter months with the cold temps and forced hot air. I have found several great products to combat the dryness and keep m,y skin soft and supple.
My Favorite Hydrating and Moisturizing Products
Cleansing
Albolene Moisturizing Cleanser – My Dermatologist recommended this to me and I use it every night to clean my face. It takes off my makeup and I do not use water to wash my face. I rub it all over and wipe it off gently with a tissue. I also use CeraVe Hydrating Facial Wash if I have stubborn mascara or want to reapply makeup.
Plantgenius® Creamy Bubbling Cleanser – This rich foaming cleanser is what I use in the morning to wake up my face for the day and makeup. It has a yummy texture and I like that it hydrates, exfoliates and brightens my skin with fruit enzymes, AHAs, and vitamin C.
Moisturizing
Eye Cream: Plantgenius® Line-Filling Eye Balm – Finally an eye cream that moisturizes and works with my sensitive eye area. Read all about this favorite clean beauty products in this post
Face Moisturizer: Plantgenius® Melt Moisturizer – This is the most amazing product. It quenches my skin and I can’t believe I don’t need something heavier in these frigid temps. Read all about this favorite clean beauty products in this post
Face Oils: I love both of these oils and go back and forth between the two. They feel wonderful on my skin and both have great benefits.
Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil – I am a huge fan of all Drunk Elephant products and this oil is rich in critical antioxidants and omega 6 and 9.
Squalane and Vitamin C Rose Oil – this oil visibly brightens, firms, and evens skin tone. Everything I need!
Rich Intense Moisturizer: Skin Food Original Ultra-Rich Cream this is a thick intense moisturizer. I use it on my face when I am extra parched.
Makeup
RealGlow Primer – this primer is soft and supple. I like how it creates a smooth glowing layer below my foundation.
True Skin Serum Foundation – Read all about my favorite new clean beauty makeup in this post.
Hair
These hydrating products drench my hair in moisture but do not weigh it down. I still can style my hair straight and it lasts for days with out washing.
MOROCCANOIL Hydrating Shampoo / Hydrating Conditioner
Weightless Hydrating Mask – this is a treat for my hair. I use it once a week
Hands
Ressurection Aromatique Hand Wash – this moisturizing hand wash is not harsh and great for multiple washes in a row.

Thanks Ridgely. This is so helpful. kk
This is SO helpful. Now I have a question: (feel free to email me at kathleen.wilks@wfp.com) I am REALLY CURIOUS about Gwynneth Paltrow’s Goop. She is heavily promoting a Goop glow skin peel that I may try. Curious if you have any experience with her products:)
Hi Kathleen – No – I haven’t tried the Goop Peel. I will ask around 🙂
