My Clean Beauty Complexion with Ilia

A few weeks ago I got to the end of my Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer and even though I have been loyal to the product for years, I was ready to try something new. I wanted to move to a clean beauty routine and after lots of searching and reading tons of reviews, I decided to try Ilia.

What do you look for in a foundation?

For me, I want a foundation to be luminous and moisturizing – to cover my imperfections but not be heavy or cakey. I have dry, maturing skin and wanted something that would not sink into my lines or feel tight. I want my skin to show through but be better.. is that even possible??

I took myself to Sephora’s Ilia Counter to see if I liked the consistency, smell and find the right color for me. Yes, I wanted to smell the products! If I don’t like the smell.. I can’t use it! I liked how it felt, smelled and was able to find the perfect match. I ended up buying three products the Ilia True Skin Serum Foundation in Tavarua SF2, the Ilia True Skin Serum Concealer in Yucca SC2 and the Ilia Multi Stick in Dreamer – Warm Nude.

Don’t forget about SPF!

I am sure you have seen all the articles about how bad the ingredients are in many sunscreens and to put that on your face/body day in and day out can’t be good for us. So while I do want to have SPF for being outside, I really like having a product that does not have SPF for the days I am at work and at night. I am barely get outside on the days I am at the office and even though I walk to my office in the morning, I am not worried about the sun at 8am

I do like the convenience of having everything in one product like the Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 30 but want to stay away from the chemicals so I am going to give the Ilia Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 20 a try and see how I like it.

I love how it feels and looks on my skin!

So what do I think? I m really happy with how the products feel and look on my skin. I like how it lasts all day and I do not need to touch up my makeup. Not that I would, I am someone who puts it on and doesn’t look in the mirror again until I clean my face when I get home. If I am going out at night, I always clean my face and start fresh. All in all – I am a convert. I am going to buy the tinted moisturizer, the Ilia Limitless Mascara and I really want to try their Liquid Light Serum Highlighter… Oh how I love a good highlighter! 🙂
