Why is it that boy bedding is so dull and the girls have so many colorful options? I am looking for twin duvet covers for my teenage sons that will work for them in their dorms and everywhere I look I see drab greys, dull blues, muddy browns and over-sized sports logos. I just want something a little better looking and a pattern would be nice. This is when having a girl would be so much easier! I never seem to go wrong at Pottery Barn and had some good luck at both PB Dorm and PB Teen. As luck would have it, they are all having super sales and free shipping, so it is the perfect time to get your college dorms decorated and freshen up your linen closet.
I have learned the hard way with having kids away at school, that a very deep fitted sheet, between 16″ and 22″, is a must. Otherwise you wont be able to get it over the mattress, the mattress topper that makes the very thin school provided mattress more comfortable and the fitted waterproof mattress cover. I err on the side of things spilling on the bed and figure a waterproof mattress cover is good insurance. I buy two sets of sheets, in our case it is usually an exact replica as it is hard to find two patterns they like, so they have one on the bed and one for wash day. I would like to say my boys change their sheets regularly, but it seem like every time we go visit, we are changing their linens. You may have better luck with your daughters.
I am going to send this post to my sons and see what they like.. fingers crossed they like something I picked out!

Yikes! It’s that time again!!! Pottery BArn Is our usual go to…Do you do a quilt or duvets & covers?
I know! I do plain white or colored fitted sheets and duvet covers for the comforter. The boys do not like flat sheets and so I get the deep fitted sheets and extra pillowcases. And I have to get new towels! The ones they have are destroyed! I am getting the awning stripe beach towels with our last name on them in the small size. Hope that helps! xxRidgely

Boy bedding is hard! I ended up using patterned sheets to make A duvet cover for him.
