I am sorry I left you hanging! The last month has been a blur. I came down to Florida right before Thanksgiving to recover from surgery to repair a fractured and dislocated ankle and have been here ever since. It made more sense for me to stay here with my parents through the holidays as they have a one-floor house and we were already booked to celebrate Thanksgiving and Christmas with them. I brought down my work computer and set up an office in my bedroom.
I tried to keep up with the pace of posting and working full time, but I ran out of gas right around Christmas and needed to take some time off from blogging.
Now that I am feeling more like myself and able to move around more freely, I am in need of a few things to spruce up my limited wardrobe and beauty routine.
First on my list… I am in the Market for New Sneakers!
This is a big one. I traveled down here in my APL sneakers – wearing one on my good leg and packed the other. I love my APL sneakers and bought them because they have a breathable mesh fabric, are low to the ground, really comfortable and great for walking or running around. They are going to be a great sneaker when I am out of my boot.
Once I moved from my splint to a big black boot, I needed a sneaker with a higher heel to level me up to the height of the boot. Luckily, I had an old pair of Asics running sneakers (similar to these) at my parent’s house. They are neon green and gold and while they work for every day, I have been wearing them out at night too…. not the best fashion choice with evening attire but I get a pass since I have the injury 🙂
I do not think I will be wearing anything but sneakers in my near future and would LOVE a pair of neutral-colored sneakers to wear when I dress up.
Good thing it’s “IN” to wear sneakers with dresses!
I have worn my Adidas to death but the leather is really hot in the Summer and for Florida, they could be too. I have a pair of Superga’s and slip on converse but neither of them has the support I think I will need.
I have been looking around and there are a lot of new sneaker brands.. almost too many!
The Vejas look about right but again.. are they hot? and the Golden Goose are chic but a splurge for something that I don’t think has the support I need. What about Greats Royale Perforated? They keep hitting me up on Instagram and I have no idea if they will work or not. How about Tretorns? They have made a comeback and come in canvas. So many choices…
What do you suggest?? I would love your thoughts! Think supportive, comfortable, breathable and chic. That’s a tall request!

This is the question that has me up at night! I have an arsenal of sneakers now, and haven’t found the right pair. Here are a few that didn’t work – M. Gemi and Rothys. Both are super cute, but NOT comfortable. I am currently considering Tretorns and Allbirds.
I agree! I do love my stan smith – have you tried them? And the APL are really great but not really for dress up – more exercise and walking around. Thanks for knocking two off the list. I have to look into Allbirds…Keep me posted. xxRidge
Happy New Year Ridgely! I am so sorry to hear about your injury and surgery-what a bummer. I am no help with your sneaker ?, but look forward to seeing what you discover. Hope to see you soon,
Felicia
Girl…you need to ask Carrie Mink, she had the cutest pair on the other day. I believe they were Nike but not your typical ones:)

Years ago, our pediatrician said New Balance were the best sneakers out there. One of my boys needed them while pledging for a fraternity and concurred that they are the extremely comfortable.
I have fallen in love with Cole Haan’s GrandPro sneaker – they are incredibly comfortable and lightweight for travel. Look cute with pants and dresses. They are now my go-to summer white sneaker. Although, I am also a fan of Tretorns for the same reason.
