Are you looking for a dinner or lunch that will take less than 20 minutes to cook, serve and maybe even eat? I know we are not trying to speed up the dining process, but some nights there are a million things happening and to get everyone fed before running off to practices, school work, and other commitments it is really nice to have a quick meal to get on the table.
Who doesn’t want a yummy Dinner on the table in less than 20 Minutes..??
I will admit that I have never had a Sloppy Joe but, when our son with Celiac Disease came home from school saying he had a really yummy Sloppy Joe, we knew that we might want to find a good recipe to have on hand. I should back up that statement with the fact that said son does not request many meals and has a pretty slim repertoire of things he will eat, so we are happy to indulge him.
I have seen the Manwich commercials (is that aging me?) but was not excited about opening up a can to make this meal. Luck would have it, I met the owner of Little Cuisine Seasoning Mixes* which is located and produced right here in New Canaan, CT. How about that?!? All of their seasonings are Gluten Free, with no artificial ingredients, no msg, full of delicious spices and flavors, plus easy to make. They have a great range of mixes and we couldn’t wait to give them all a try.
We decided to give the Sloppy Joe’s a trial run this past weekend and they were really good. Full of flavor and I gobbled up my two sliders! I timed the whole process and it came in under 12 minutes.. I would say that is a quick way to get a delicious meal served up!
We did not use GF buns this go around, but it would be easy to serve up gluten free and for a healthier option I would add a green salad. I have to say the chips and pickles were a very nice addition and to keep it local we picked up a growler from a local spot called Lock City Brewing Co. right in Stamford, CT. Local pals, if you want a fun afternoon or early evening with friends, stop by to take a tour and taste their different beers made on site. The Lock City Brewing Co. is a great find!
*You can buy the seasonings at many grocery stores and if not you can buy them on-line via the link or at Amazon.
