Looking for a Skirt? I Really Like These

I rarely if, never wear a skirt (see this post with all my quirks), but I really like these two.  I wonder if I would ever wear them and then the big question is… what do I wear on top?  I am hoping Alison Bruhn, Style consultant, can show me the way when she visits my closet next week.  Another true and fun story is that Lizzie Fortunato worked for us years ago and I have always been a big fan of her jewelry.  She creates beautiful, bold and special pieces like this bold cuff and these tassel earrings (also in black).  I have loved seeing her grow here business and be successful.  If you are unfamiliar with Need Supply Co. you should take a serious look around their site.  I particularly like the accessories and beauty sections.

Are you Looking for a skirt? How about one of these that Ridgely Brode shares on her Blog, Ridgely's Radar.

Where Did All The Snow Go?

After spending the whole of Saturday cleaning and organizing (as I mentioned in this post), we needed some fresh air and outside exercise. So this afternoon we got out of the house and were all prepared for snow, but when we got up North there was not a speck of snow!  Isn’t that crazy?!  I was layered up and then I had to walk around in snow boots for the afternoon with no snow!  Oh well, my feet were warm and we had a good walk. I love that we have Monday off and we really got to enjoy the day and not feel rushed or harried to get ready for Monday.  Hope you are enjoying your weekend and the extra time off!

We went for a walk in the snow but when we arrived, there wasn't any snow! So Ridgely Brode wore snow boots all afternoon without any snow!

Getting Organized: Cleaning Out My Desk

There is nothing better than getting organized, purging the clutter and bringing in new things that make sense for your life and closet. I am going to be sharing what I do to stay on top of my mess; some are once a year, others are every season or quarter and many are once a month or even once a day (!) depending on the task at hand.  For me, Week One is all about my desk and computer  Being organized and starting out the New Year with a new calendar, updated files and a cleaned out Inbox is the best feeling.  It is a fresh start and I work better when I have everything stored in its proper place.  I don’t know about you, but December is a crazy month for me, so when I leave the office and our home for our vacation after Christmas, I have let all my good habits fall to the wayside and every where I look there is piles of junk;  my drawers, my desktop, and my files (in and out off my computer). Ugh!  And lets not get to my bathroom, closet, bureau, pretty much everywhere… it is overwhelming and makes me crazy! Once I have Christmas put away (yes, I edit before I put it away!) , I start to breathe a little easier and then I take one task a week to get myself reined in.

This weekend will be my time to clean out my desk, computer and phone.  I put together my 6 Tips to a Clean and Organized Desk and you can get it by subscribing HERE or below in the POP UP BOX on the RIGHT.  That way you can print it out and go at your own pace.  It is a lot to do and, depending on your space, it can be best to take it in small time increments that work for your schedule.

My current desk is in the kitchen and I really need to remove myself from the action to be more productive.  I am going to set up a new space and try to make it my own.  I would like to get a few supplies to be my reward for tackling a big clean out..,I am looking at these hand bookends, these letter opener and magnifying glass, I have been wanting this acrylic tape dispenser and stapler, and think this Buckle Magazine Caddy is so chic and there are so many more goodies pictured below!  Happy Organizing!

I am Looking for Blouses On Sale

I realized when I was packing for our recent trip to Florida (did you see these great Resort pieces?)  that I don’t have any blouses I really love and want to wear.  I thought I would take a peak at the sales and see what I can find that might fit my budget and my style.  I tend to gravitate to neutrals that are season-less so I can wear them all year long and most of what I selected below are basics. and they are all under $150.  I also couldn’t help my self and found a few other things on sale.. these  Waterproof Snowboots, these Cropped Jeans, this Bandeau Bikini (Great Deal!) and these Suede Lace Up Sandals.  Now I am way over budget ..even with everything on sale. Seems to be the story of my life!

Blouses are one thing Ridgely Brode is looking for on her blog, Ridgely's Radar, and what is better than finding them on sale?

What is Your New Years Resolution?

So…what is your New Years Resolution?  I have the same one every year, to get back to working out and slim down. Sad to say that it is a recurring theme and I should have learned by now to get to it.. especially at my age!  This year I am 100% better off than I was last year because I lost 10 pounds leading up to Christmas.  I think, well, to be honest, I know, I have gained several back from enjoying the Holidays and vacation with my family, but I continued to watch what I ate, drank and moved my body as much as possible.  I stayed on my new health lifestyle regime as much as possible and will get back on my second 30 day regime on Monday, January 9th.  I am actually looking forward to it because I like a routine and the first round was so much easier than I could ever imagine and I have never felt better! (Anyone looking to join me, send me a note and we can hold each other accountable and support each other!)

I am now ready to add the exercise component.  I spoke about doing the Sweat App last Summer in this post and am going to start back to Week One on Monday.  I may be taking on too much at once, but I am going to do my best to go a day at a time and not over think it. I can come up with a million and one excuses NOT to exercise, so if I can motivate everyday to do something that will be a huge accomplishment.  I figure a few new pieces of workout gear and clothes wouldn’t hurt to make me feel good and am eyeing these leggings (all black until I meet my goal and can rock a pattern), this tank and this vest for layering.  Feel free to share in the comments below your resolutions and we canhelp each other stay on track!  Good Luck and Here’s to a great 2017!
