My New Sports Bras

As many of you may or may not know, I have been on the quest to lose weight and get in shape for a big birthday looming in my near future.  I have lost almost 20 pounds and am still working at it on a daily basis.  I was hiding under tops that seemed to get more and more diaphanous, so I really didn’t realize how much weight I was holding on to until I saw some pictures of myself at a family party.  I knew my dress was snug, but I didn’t think it was that bad! UGH!  I still need to get some more weight off and I have to make working out a priority. When Maidenform contacted me to try out their new sports bras, I knew that it was the perfect partnership to make me get active.  It is not easy to done a sports bra and have my picture taken for everyone to see, but it has motivated me to keep after my walking and doing the Kayla Itsines workouts.

I have always had a hard time finding well fitting, flattering and easy to get on and off sports bras. The Maidenform Sport Bras are just was I have been looking for.  I particularly like the zip front racer back because of the zipper and the black and white pattern is fun.  I appreciate that they have a motion control technology that keeps bounce under control and the fabric incorporates moisture-wicking to keep me dry.. all very important details.  As I am writing this, I know I need to put one on and get out for my walk!  I am still about 1,000 steps short for the day…

The Soft Bucket Bag

I have come to the realization after many, many years of dragging a huge tote around that I actually do not need such a big bag and the soft bucket bag is my favorite.  Ever since I got my LL Bean Tote, I have not gone back to my other big bags.  I love that it stands up on its own, it has two handles and a zipper, is short enough that I can find what I want right away ( I use these pouches to organize it and this flat clutch to pull out if I am going out after work) and it is still roomy enough to throw in a change of shoes, a water bottle and a throw scarf.  Not bad for someone who was the biggest schlepper.. I am a convert!  What I also like about it is that it is a little slouchy and not a really stiff, hard sided satchel.  I would say the one draw back is that I have the camo fabric with orange monogram, which is not very formal and doesn’t work for those times I need a polished look.  So I am on a hunt for a more refined version to get me to those fancier events and found a few very good looking options …. Which is your favorite?

Fancy a Slipper for your Feet?

Fancy a slipper for your feet?  These iconic Stubbs & Wootton slippers are all the rage in Palm Beach and you too can sport them around town, to up your travel wardrobe or for a casual evening at home.  The are really comfortable and the different patterns can speak to your personality.   The ribbon chain blue velvet mule caught my eye and so did the parade tweed slippers.  Which one is your favorite?

Basketweave Jacket

When I spied this basketweave jacket from Argent I knew I had to have it!  Teal is one of my favorite colors and I love the basketweave.  It is just the pop of pattern and color that I can wear with all the neutrals in my closet.  I love that is has a handy zip pocket for a cell phone and credit card and a place to store my lipstick, how genius is that?!  Argent is a really cool new brand that has created chic, work styles for the modern woman.  They have gorgeous fabrics, beautiful tailoring, handy pockets for your running out for a coffee with out your whole bag and a little loop on their pants for a corporate Id. I have my eye on this sleeveless turtleneck,  striped pocket tee and this structured vest.

I am wearing the jacket with my new purchases from Ann Taylor, this mixed media tank that is the best under pining for jackets (I bought it in black, navy and the cream!) and it is machine washable!  Love that!  My shoes are the Gigi block heel sandal in suede.  They are so comfortable that I think I might have to get them in another color.
